NGARABUL Country 2024 NAIDOC Week is full of fantastic free activities

The Glen Innes Local Aboriginal Land Council have created a week-long celebration of the 2024 theme: "Keep the fire burning! Blak, loud and proud.”

From Monday 8 July to Friday 12 July 2024, Ngarabul Country is celebrating NAIDOC Week 2024 with workshops and activities every day!

The week’s activities include:

  • Native fauna nestbox-building workshop with GLENRAC on Monday 8 July

  • Cultural tie-dying at the Glen Innes Youth Booth on Monday 8 July

  • Weaving with Waabii at The Local on Tuesday 9 July and the Glen Innes library on Thursday 11 July

  • Art Workshop with Joblink Plus at Cooramah Cultural Centre on Tuesday 9 July

  • NAIDOC Community Day in the Town Square on Wednesday 10 July - including:

    • Welcome to Country

    • Smoking Ceremony

    • NAIDOC March

    • Service Providers stalls

    • Didgeridoo playing on the Town Hall Balcony

    • Free lunch at the Glen Innes & District Community Centre

  • TAFE Student Showcase at the Glen Innes TAFE Campus on Thursday 11 July including a free BBQ lunch

  • Family Fun Day at King George Oval, including toddler activities, a scavenger hunt, an obstacle course and much more!
