Previous survey results (Oct 2022)

Landholders are invited to provide feedback to NSW DPI to enhance their seasonal conditions monitoring and forecasting services.

Your feedback is part of a continual process of gaining insights into the services and is part of a broader engagement process including interviews and focus group workshops.

The survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes, can be completed anonymously, and has been tailored to different interest groups.

Key findings of previous survey (2022)

  • Two in five landholders told us that they experience a major drought every 4-7 years

  • The typical length of drought experienced lasted 2-3 years

  • Most relevant sources of information to help make business decisions are seasonal rainfall forecasts and weather forecasts

  • Better access to information would help landholders improve their farm management practices
