This week marks 35 years since the inaugural meeting of GLENRAC on Thursday 22nd June 1989.

The organisation was formed to investigate a total catchment management plan for the Macintyre Valley, which took in the Glen Innes area.

The key issues of the day were Eucalyptus dieback, salinity and soil erosion issues.

Today GLENRAC continues the work of the original committee with an active volunteer Committee of Management and a team of five paid staff, based in Glen Innes, supporting the goals and activities of the organisation.

In 2024, GLENRAC has a wider scope of priorities encompassing natural resource management, sustainable agriculture production and supporting the people who both manage the land and live in our community of interest.

GLENRAC will host 35th-anniversary events later in the year in the warmer months to celebrate this milestone.
