Getting The Fundamentals Right
The National Feral Pig Conference 2025, being held on 24-26 March 2025 at the Mantra on View Surfers Paradise, is fast approaching.
The Conference delegates will be welcomed to Queensland by the Hon. Tony Perrett, Minister for Primary Industries.
This year’s Conference is aiming to provide delegates with practical information to enhance the effectiveness of feral pig management and how this can be achieved.
An exciting line-up of invited speakers has been assembled, supported by 29 submitted abstracts addressing the conference theme, “Getting the fundamentals right”.
In response to this overwhelming response to the call for abstracts, the Conference Opening, Welcome to Country and Plenary Keynote Session, being presented by Emeritus Professor Jim Hone, University of Canberra will be held on Monday 24 March commencing at 5 pm, immediately prior to the Welcome Function.
Two discussion panel sessions have also been included into the Conference Program to address the sub-themes of “Effective regional coordination and collaboration” and “Harnessing people power”. These panels will involve several land managers to discuss how to engage and motivate communities to work together, with the second involving State and regional coordinators primarily working with agricultural land managers and Indigenous Ranger groups.
